How do you work?

It starts from color and a fascination. A fascination to create a story through images. My work is intuitive and my paintings and drawings are a part of a story that has started to take shape these last few years. A story filled of adventures and dreams. My artistic practice consists mainly of painting and drawing at the moment. I love to explore shapes and lines through drawing and I do this a lot. So when I pick up my brush to dive into the painting process, I'm full of new energy and curiosity.

The painting process for me is both physical and meditative. Letting go and letting the hand speak as well as going in and creating definiton and detail. Ending up in both mythologically charged and every day life shapes. An invitation into the universe I'm creating.

What do you appreciate about the home gallery concept?

I really like the home exhibition gallery concept. Because it creates a more intimate way of experiencing art. I grew up in a house full of art and I've always been grateful for that. I like the fact that the home exhibition concept ables you to see art as a part of every day life. A home full of gems and treasures. Invitations to different universes from the livingroom.

Is there someone who's work you admire?

At the moment I have been tremendously inspired by the works of the Swedish artist and abstract art pioneer Hilma af Klint. To me her work brings out a certain kind of calmness, the kind that you can experience in places that feel holy to you and I really like that her art can bring out this as well.

What interests you right now?

I'm fascinated by birds at the moment, especially how they move in nature. I have also started to work with the color green again and it feels wonderful. It feels like a new beginning.

What do you love about summer?

Sea, light and warmth. The endless summer nights and all the time you spend outside. Being able to paint outdoors again, I dream of that the rest of the year really. There is nothing like painting under the sun with your favourite tunes in the background.

What is best about the area where you live?

In Mustasaari/Korsholm I love the closeness with nature. Being able to walk into the forest from your back garden, having the sea near you and the beautiful archipelago that surrounds the area.

What else do you have planned for this year?

With a happy heart I can say that in autumn I will begin my Master's studies in Fine Arts (MFA), at Umeå Academy of Fine Arts in Sweden.

What are you dreaming of?

I dream of being able to do art my whole life. Of exhibiting my art. I dream of going to all kind of different artist residences in different corners of the world. Soaking in new colors, shapes and ideas. I dream of collaborating with designers and artists from many different fields: fashion, ceramics, music, moving image, 3D design..Yes, I'd love to do these things.
